![]() It doesn’t need improvement, of course, because it’s pretty darn good as it is, but we still can’t help but wonder what this would taste like with a little more of a seafood vibe. Now, we can’t help but wonder what this would taste like with some shrimp instead of the chicken, because that’s the only way we can think to improve this dish. The Devour Cajun-Style Alfredo with Sausage & Chicken is delicious. It does have 1,030 mg of sodium, however, and that’s insanely high. It’s certainly not in the realm of the diet-friendly, but it’s lighter than many of Devour’s other items. So when we saw that the Cajun-Style Alfredo with Sausage & Chicken weighed in at 410 calories, we thought that wasn’t too bad. Their White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Bacon contains 710 calories, for example (it tastes amazing, by the way). Now, we’ve pretty much given up on the idea that Devour frozen foods will ever be lean, low-calorie meals. ![]() Since the sauce is great, having each noodle packed with the stuff ends up being quite a good thing. The pasta is a gemelli noodle, which is spiralled in shape so it soaks up the sauce and keeps it trapped in between its ridges. Plus, all the spices and flavorings give it a nice texture, sort of how a good dose of parmesan cheese would. This is the kind of sauce that will have you scraping the bottom of the dish to get every last drop. Still, this meal clears the sinuses a bit - this is no wimpy, spice-free sauce. We see this as more of a zing than a true spice level, which is why we chose the word zing earlier in this paragraph. Now, we actually think the sausage is spicier than the sauce, so we don’t want to exaggerate the spiciness of the sauce. The sauce is a creamy alfredo with a bit of a zing. Our only complaint about the meat here is that we wish there were more of it. And we have to say this sausage is fantastic - it’s loaded with both spice and flavor. The sausage comes in circular slabs - we don’t want to compare these to pepperoni, because these pieces are sliced much thicker. The chicken here is broken into gigantic chunks, which are juicy and rich. To start off, this has two different meats in it: white-meat chicken and smoked sausage. We do have pretty high expectations for Devour frozen foods! Even so, this dish lives up to the hype. This isn’t necessarily the type of food you expect to find in the frozen food aisle at your local grocery store, yet here we are.Ĭajun-style alfredo is one of those ever-craveable comfort foods, so we’re glad Devour, the king of frozen comfort foods, put out their own version. Take, for instance, the Cajun-Style Alfredo with Sausage & Chicken. We love Devour’s frozen food, so we’re pretty excited to find out that Devour is experimenting with some less traditional food items.
